Salary, Benefits, and Employee Information

Salaries  for the 2007-2008 academic year

(subject to change each year):

  • PL-1 –   $43,080.00
  • PL-2 --   $44,625.00
  • PL-3 --   $46,112.00

Select Benefits Program 

Through this program, you choose the amount and type of coverage that best suits you and your family. You must have health insurance as well as life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.

 

Long-Term Disability Income Insurance

All residents are covered by the hospital for this type of insurance. The insurance provides a guaranteed conversion option so that you may purchase an individual policy without evidence of insurability upon completion of residency training.

 

Professional Liability Insurance 

Malpractice insurance is provided to residents. Coverage is limited to residents' activities as members of St. Christopher's house staff.

 

Vacation 

  • PL-1 -- 3 weeks + 1 week "break" between PL-1 and PL-2 years
  • PL-2 -- 4 weeks
  • PL-3 -- 4 weeks

*Family and Medical leaves are available

 

American Academy of Pediatrics Membership 

For all residents, membership dues to the AAP are sponsored, which includes subscription to Pediatrics, Pediatrics in Review, Contemporary Pediatrics, AAP News, and the Red Book.

 

Educational Allowance 

Through this program, each resident receives an annual allowance of $500 to be used toward the purchase of medical textbooks, subscriptions, educational software, etc.

Employee Assistance Program

The Employee Assistance Program is offered to all employees of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children. It offers free, confidential short-term counseling and referral for a variety of problems, including stress, marital/family issues, depression and anxiety, alcohol and drug abuse programs, grief and financial or legal difficulties.

 

Pre-Employment Procedures

The following procedures must be completed before becoming an employee of St. Christopher's Hospital for Children:

Health screening examination (provided) 

Immunization status documentation or titers 

Tuberculosis testing (provided) 

Drug testing (provided)
