Benefits Information

Tenet is proud to offer a benefits package with choice and flexibility to meet the needs of our diverse workforce. Benefits are important part of an employee’s compensation package and we try to make a significant investment to offer a comprehensive benefit plan. Following is a highlight of the benefits an employee may be eligible for:


Core Benefits
Available to full time employees at no cost. These benefits include Basic Employee Life Insurance, Basic Personal Accident Insurance and Business Travel (part time 1 employees are eligible for Business Travel).

Employee Assistance Program
All employees and their families are eligible for the EAP, which offers counseling for all types of personal or work-related issues. The EAP can provide counseling for Marriage, Family, Substance Abuse, Financial Advice/Counseling, and Legal Guidance.

Medical Plan
Tenet offers comprehensive medical options. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment.

Dental Plan
Tenet offers a comprehensive Dental Plan and a Preventive Dental Plan. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment.

Vision Plan
Tenet offers a comprehensive Vision Plan. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment.

Disability Plan
Tenet offers full time employees an opportunity to purchase short-term and long-term disability coverage. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment.

Life and AD&D
Tenet offers a variety of Life Insurance and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance for employees, spouses, and children. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment.

Reimbursement Accounts
Tenet offers both Healthcare Reimbursement Accounts and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts. These accounts allow employees to set aside pre-tax dollars to pay for out-of-pocket medical expenses and dependent care expenses. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment.

Long Term Care
Tenet offers full time employees and their families the opportunity to purchase Long Term Care Insurance to provide financial protection against the high cost of home or long-term facility care. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment.

Career Growth
Tenet offers nurses the opportunity to obtain their BSN or MSN Degrees online. Tenet also offers various specialty-training programs for employees who wish to increase their knowledge base, or advance their careers in other areas of the hospital.

Cash Plus
Allows employees to accrue dollars that are placed into a Cash Plus account for future use. Employees use these dollars to replace income when taking approved time away from work. Also includes a “cash in” option to redeem Cash Plus in dollars. Eligibility begins the 31st day of employment. Employees use these dollars to replace income when taking approved time away from work including Tenet observed holidays.

401k Retirement Plan
Employees are eligible to contribute to the 401k Retirement Plan on a pre-tax and after-tax basis beginning on their 91st day of employment. Participating employees will receive a company match on their contributions for up to 5% of their base salaries. The company match begins as of the first day of the calendar quarter following the employee’s first year of employment. Tenet's 401k has been profiled in Smart Money Magazine based on over 125 fund options. The plan is managed by Fidelity Investments.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Offers employees who have completed 30 days of service and have worked more than 19 hours each week an opportunity to purchase shares of Tenet common stock at a 15% discount, through payroll deductions.

Matching Gift Program
Tenet Healthcare Foundation will match, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, gifts made by eligible Tenet employees to qualified, local, regional, and national organizations that hold a tax-exempt status under section 501c(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Volunteer Involvement Program
The Volunteer Involvement Program provides financial assistance to non-profit organizations that benefit from contributions of time and talent from Tenet volunteers. The fund will make contributions of up to $500 per employee per year to eligible organizations in support of employees volunteering their own time to help non-profit groups better serve their communities

Target 100
Customer Service Program that develops employees to be effective ambassadors of care and service. The goal of Target 100 is to become the hospital of choice in each local community for patients, physicians, employees and health plans.

Multiple Sites
Choose from over 110 Tenet facilities nationwide based on your desired geographic preferences, specialty choices and desired facility environment (e.g. urban vs. rural; large vs. small; teaching facility, etc.) to complement your professional needs.

.edu
An innovative continuing education program designed to offer Tenet employees the leadership development, technical education and training they need to advance their careers. Tenet’s educational network will offer a unique combination of traditional educator led courses and computer based classes delivered via the internet.

Tenet Federal Credit Union
Offers financial services tailored to the healthcare professional.

Tenet Healthcare Foundation
Conducts philanthropic grant making on behalf of Tenet Healthcare Corporation and its hospitals. Endowed by Tenet, the Foundation directs most of its grants to help address unmet healthcare needs in communities served by Tenet facilities. The Foundation also provides grants to various educational, social services, civic and humanities-supporting organizations nationwide.

Scholarships
Tenet Healthcare Foundation is a strong advocate of supporting not only Tenet’s employees in their life endeavors, but also their families. The Foundation's two scholarship programs, the National Merit and Achievement Program and the Children of Tenet Employees Scholarship Program award over 150 scholarships annually.

Service Awards
Tenet recognizes the valuable contributions employees make to the company's growth and success by recognizing employees at each of their significant anniversary dates.

Jury and Bereavement Leaves
Time off related to jury duty as well as time needed to attend funeral services of relatives are available to eligible employees.

Direct Deposit
Tenet offers employees the option of having their paycheck automatically deposited into their personal checking accounts.
