Occupational Therapy uses purposeful activity to facilitate independence and functioning in children suffering from injury, disability or chronic illness. At St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children the focus is on development of movement as it relates to upper extremity/fine motor skills, perceptual and sensorimotor abilities, self-care and social skills.

Upper extremity evaluation/treatment (muscle testing, strengthening, re-education, coordination training, range of motion)

Self-Care assessment/treatment (feeding, dressing, personal hygiene, functional communication and mobility skills)
