We’ve always known that St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children is home to some of the brightest and most caring physicians. But now, Philadelphia Magazine is spreading the word! Six of our very own physicians have been included in Philadelphia Magazine’s “Top Docs 2007” feature. Those physicians include Dr. Daniel Schidlow, Pediatric Pulmonology, Dr. Maria Delivoria-Papadopoulos, Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine, Dr. Sarah Long, Pediatric Infectious Disease, Dr. Gary Diamond, Ophthalmology, Dr. Marshall Schwartz, Pediatric Surgery, and Dr. Paul Glat, Plastic Surgery.
Philadelphia Magazine teamed up with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. to research and locate the finest medical practitioners in the region. These are the local doctors other doctors say they’d choose to tend to their family members.
The decision process was long and rigorous. Candidates were first nominated by thousands of randomly selected physicians. The process asked for doctors with not just outstanding medical and research achievements, but also for those with excellent interpersonal skills. “In depth surveying was implemented in early 2006 of every hospital in Camden, Philadelphia, Bucks, Montgomery, Chester and Delaware counties,” explains Philadelphia Magazine, “The Castle Connolly research staff also conducted extensive interviews by telephone with leading physicians, specialists, chiefs of service and healthcare executives in the region.” Other criteria considered when choosing the Top Docs of 2007 included professional qualifications, education, certifications, professional reputation, experience and disciplinary history. Congratulations to our fine physicians!
